Your leaders
GARY
ELTON has served as warden of a local nature
reserve on the outskirts of London, residing and birding in the
capital for over
35 years, a former Herts Bird Club committee member and contributor
to several birding publications. He now lives in Norfolk, playing
an active part in birding there and is a trustee of a local conservation
organisation, he is also a qualified ringer involved in running
local constant effort ringing sites for the British Trust for Ornithology.
JACK
FEARNSIDE is a co-editor of The Breeding
birds of Hertfordshire and
co-author of Birds at Tring Reservoirs. A former committee
member of the Herts Bird Club, and a member of the Rare Birds Panel
for the county, he is also involved in producing the Hertfordshire
Bird Report. Jack is also a qualified ringer involved in running
a local constant effort site and monitoring breeding birds on the
site. Jack has extensive knowledge of birding in and around the
London area and the south-east of England whatever the weather
or season.
